Lectures and seminars that include presentations on the clinical and microscopic anatomy and physiology of the periodontium in health and disease, the behavioral, anatomic and biologic factors responsible for the various periodontal diseases and the application of this knowledge to the patient with an emphasis on the prevention of periodontal diseases and maintenance of oral health.

HDP 601 Diagnosis and Treatment of Periodontal Diseases I
Lectures and seminars that cover the the diagnosis, etiology, prognosis, treatment planning, periodontal therapy and the overall management of the patient with periodontal diseases. It includes pre-clinical experience in the prevention and treatment of slight and moderately severe periodontal diseases to prepare the students for their clinical program.
